To have a quorum, we really need six HC members here. However, I'm tired of not doing anything because we don't have the requisite number of people. How about we start anyway? good for marshmallows I agree Your Grace let us begin sounds fine to me Your Highness? I'll summarize. * I forgot to mention that Grond said he would try to show by the way In order for a game to be adopted as secondary, a petition must be presented to the High Council with the signatures of ten members of Draconia. A maximum of five secondary games may be active at any time. The High Council may remove a secondary game if it becomes inactive by a majority vote. Thank you, Lady Serena! Any questions, comments, snide remarks in relation to this proposal? Thats all there is too it? * Please use * or ** to indicate you wish to speak. Lady Serena? * (And yes, that is all there is to it. Why complicate things if it's not necessary? ;) ) well I do think that the standing order of things is excellant but wished to add something mineself. I know that people fear stretching our limits but it is only in doing so to a degree that growth wilt occur once more. Most of the people who have been posting thought this was about changing primary games and did not want to lose D2 but what if we were to allow two primary games so that we would have growth from two different areas. I believe that doing so would help with the stagnicity of our Empire right now. Done ** *** Grond (JavaClient@6ca5ed00.6ca5eca1.63.239.imsk) has joined channel #DE_HC This is only impacting secondary games. I think primary games need to be addressed separately, when we have a pool to consider. Your Highness? will we make the 10 people actualy have the game? or only support it?. I wouldn't want us to vote in a secondary game, only to have like 8 or more of them just support it done I would prefer that we have 10 people actually playing it. * Also, since I just got asked this, the majority vote to remove is High Council vote. Your Grace Shadocat? I like the idea of having this structure. It gives people a solid option to attempt to move forward to our gaming future. It also provides a good test base for potential primary games. As for the signature requirements, It would be nice to have 10 people who actually have the game, or at least intend to get it. done. Thank you, Your Grace. Lady Serena? *** Mode change "+o Talyn" for channel #DE_HC by Shadocat *** Mode change "-o Shadocat" for channel #DE_HC by Shadocat I do beleive that even though we should spread our interests out we should still limit how far so. I agree with 10 active players. I also agree with Grace Shado's assesment of being a testing ground to find what fits us through our growing pangs. I would like to call a vote on this issue at this time Done I have a motion. Are there any more comments that anyone would like to make? ** Your Grace Shadocat? This not being a quorum as you said, what are the conditions of the results if we do vote and something passes? done Well, with the arrival of His Grace Grond, we have a quorum. (( I might drop, they are working on some problems with the net here)) * Shadocat nods in understanding and gratitude.* * Caithris smiles. Are there any additional comments, or a second to the motion to vote? Second. Thank you. Meaning that they would be expected when a certain course of time passes, whereas awards are given based upon merit. done. * * My answer is in agreemnt with what he says, with a little additional added. First, there are no equivalent awards for gaming. Second, we'd have to track more closely how long people had been involved. Finally, it does not award quality, merely having been around. I would prefer seeing a different award based on the quality of someone's work. Lady Serena? ((sorry hiya)) Well then perhaps we should redraft the standard for such an award and make it perhaps a quarterly thing. All writings within a three month period voted on for a winner. I do not think we should ditch the award just change the way it is earned. Done I believe that is more in line with our Scribe's Laurel. This award goes to a member of Draconia for participation in stories and/or epics of either the Druidic Order or the Empire. ** Your Grace Eldahir? thx for the floor I would prefer having laurels awarding the effort and quality rather then time spent. ** the only laurels i could see fitting with a "time table" is the oens that you would recieve after a certain amount of time within the guild. ** (cant remember the name of them ... there were ones for 6 months, 1 year , 2 year etc) and as we now have the GC awarding a laurel why not have our archdruid award this one. im done thx. May I propose we split this into two motions. One motion to be rid of the old Laurels, and a New motion, which we can open up to forums if necessary where we create new laurels that are very suitable to all? done. Well, we already have two laurels existing. I'd love to see more! Lady Serena? I think Grace Shado's idea is the best for this situation. Let us vote upon removing said laurels as is and bring the discussion to the forums. I would also like to suggest that we involve the druids in the growth of this idea since their expertise is very much involved. Many have said of late that we druids have removed ourselves from the Empire and this collabaration would help to reunite us in a way. Done Ok, two separate votes them. It currently reads: This is imparted to one who has taught many initiates the intricacies of the wild-lands (i.e. the battle.net). The dedication of this soul to the survival of the weak, while he could be adventuring by himself in more challenging lands, is a credit to his honour. We propose to change it to: This is imparted to one who has taught many initiates the intricacies of the Empire by word or deed. The commitment of this individual to sacrificing his or her time helping others is a credit to honor and dedication. Therefore making it applicable to those who teach either in gaming or rp. This is different than the medal of investiture because it recognizes time spent by those who aren't guardians in guiding and helping others. * Lady Serena? ** While I think the new verbage shows a need for such a medal I do believe that this could be an either or situation. There are many who would benefit by veterans aiding them instead of worrying about their own lvling and difficutly. Let us face it ... once ye hit lvl 80 its addicting wanting to get to 99 and such a medal might help break the addiction *giggles* so why not let both qualify for the same medal? Done Aye, that's what is intended here. Your Grace Shadocat? How about an adding that this award may be given by any of the three? done. Sure. ** All of the Three, or just one of them? (just answer which way, and then I'll call on Grond) * Shadocat scratches his head* * I simply meant any one could give it. done * Caithris grins and moves on. Your Grace Grond? while it is nice that to recieve this award it comes from one of the three. I must say that I have hardly ever gamed with any.And as mosy of thee know I play alot, some not at all, this is kind of an issue with me. Recieving recognition from a non participant. it would mean more if it came from someone whom I had campainged with done ** Thank you. Lady Serena? I would think any of the Three would suffice. And that they could base a decision off of the words of those who are helped. Let the squires and kngihts who are aided recommend the recipients and one of the three can award it when the time comes. (Thank you for having already typed it up. Bless you, bless you!) That way it wilt come from those whom the knight has helped. I believe this would be more rewardin in such a fashion Done ((I am getting use to this lol)) Nicely said. Your Grace Shadocat? Aye, many awards are given based upon the recommendation of another already. If the awarding was given in a manner that the member of the three perhaps quoted that person or persons who so commended them., It would add something to it. done. I call for a vote OK, since I've gone through the queue, I get to go now. ;) One of my knights recommends that perhaps the Questmasters could award it. Would that be preferable? * * Lady Serena Actually I had not even thought of that and I think that tis an even better idea *smiles* Done Your Grace Eldahir? *** Bastien has left #de_hc I dont thin kit would be suitable for the qms to award it. since it didnt only concern gaming (if i read this correctly) , i would preferably see the three awarding it, if they can be active enough which i think they very much can to do it. done ** Ok, I'm gonna call a quick vote on this so we can do the final version. Those who want the three to award it, answer aye. Those for the QM, answer nay. oops...hold up! Your Grace Shadocat? no thats fine i defer to vote done Ok, let's do a quick vote on that, then we'll do the final version if there are no further comments. Aye. (what if someoen doesnt want any of those to award it?) ((then vote no to the final version)) u shoudl have one vote for the three and one for the qms ((abstain??)) Aye for the three, nay for not the three. ((or, make a proposal in the forums for separate award from the QM's)) nay Are we confused? OK, here's what we are going to do. Those who want the three to award it, answer aye. Those for the QM, answer nay. We are voting on this current award only. If you feel that the three and QM should get to award a different but similar award, then go ahead and vote on this one, and propose a change or addition on the forums. ((mad eit hard for everyone lol)) nay ((And once we finish with the Medal of Teaching, we move on to ULGD and Alliances! So let's get going!)) Aye. aye aye Aye * Grond eyes Cait and her pitchfork " Aye" Alright then, final draft. Here is the final draft we are voting on. I now move that we discuss our relationship with the ULGD, and whether we'd like to have Alliances outside of the ULGD * Lady Serena? This may take a moment * I think the ULGD is a wonderful alliance and had its purpose but ... they seem to be fallen on harder times then the Empire. Now I have heard many say including mine brother that we should support them and help them grow but I have one worry about this ** No one from the ULGD has posted on our boards in quite sometime and if they do not have enough interest to help themselves then we need to return to worrying about our own needs and not over extending ourselves ** I would alose bring forth that if we are truely going to consider as a guild a new primary game that staying within the ULGD is not in our best interests. Too few of us still play D2 though I am still an addict and I realize this * Caithris chuckles. So what I would propose is not so much getting rid of the ULGD but accepting guilds into our allainces upon their own merits and gaming without the ULGD being a factor Thank You DOne Thank you. Your Grace Eldahir? May I ask what people think we would gain from an alliance? can everyone here honestyl say that they have been doing their outmost in keeping a good relationship with the ulgd, talking, posting and chatting with the ulgd? *** Signoff: Talyn (Ping timeout) IMO i thin kthat we scream a bit to hard after alliances all the time when we dont even cherish the ones we have. on another account. i thin kthe ulgd is good...good enough for us...anyway for the moment. * Caithris queues herself in behind Shadocat. we are in a transcending time...we dont know which way to go...so why not wait with new alliances until we know exactly where we stand. d dooooooooooooone :) * Caithris pops Eldahir lightly with her pitchfork and grins. Thank you, Your Grace. Your Majesty? I have many mixed feelings about the ULGD nowadays. And I don't feel that the problem is what we know about it. The problem is what we don't know. I know that I have never had much pull in ULGD affairs because quite frankly, I don't know what I am dealing with. But to solve that problem, I have "contracted" His Highness to do a little work for us regarding each of our allies in the ULGD. Basically, I gave him a sheet with a few statistics to fill out for each of our allies. Things like membership numbers, primary focuses, whether or not they roleplay, their leaders contact info, etc. But in conclusion about the ULGD, I feel that we need more information at this time. We need to know whether or not this alliance is a benefit or not for us. Because if it is not, then there is no use being a part of it. Now, about other alliances... Again, my information is minimal about possible guilds to ally with outside (and inside for that matter) the ULGD. But I will try to speak to people about these alliances in due time. * -done- Thank you, Your Majesty. I for one am glad we are gathering information. Your Grace Shadocat? At this point I could give or take the ULGD. If we dropped ULGD, we could still form independent alliances with those guilds whom are still part of the ULGD. And no matter what is chosen, I definitly would like to explore the option of an active alliance with someone outside the ULGD. The benefits of an alliance, well they may have resources available that we do not, such as a dedicated NWN server, more friendships are always good, Done. * Caithris cheers for Shado for having typed up his response already. :P Thank you, Your Grace. I queued myself in next, so I'm gonna talk. ;) * First, I agree with Lady Serena. While 'tis true we haven't gone out of our way perhaps to extend ourselves to the ULGD allies, it is equally true that they don't do the same for us. Contrasted with KR, who visits us on our own forums regularly, I find that rather sad. Aliances are a two-way street, and the sole burden for keeping them up does not lie with us. *** Telsek (JavaClient@91f02383.balt.east.36f5c1fe.net.hmsk) has joined channel #de_hc * Geirr waves to Sir Telsek, the beautiful golden knight. hail all * Porthos-DE asks for silence Continuing with that thought, I'll present the words of one of my knights, which I concur with. 'If my view of the ULGD is correct, then in reality you cannot choose who you deal with in the ULGD. Everyone is your ally within the ULGD, no matter if you choose to be their ally or not. When allied with one ULGD guild, you have an alliance with all of the guilds. Instead, if we chose our own alliances, we could -select- our own clans/guilds to ally with, in contrast to having a group that we are automatically allied with.' ((let me know if that didn't all paste)) *** Signoff: Borwin (Quit: Leaving) It didn't * Caithris hands Porthos a large crystal stein with Silence etched in lovely writing on the edge. Where did it cut off? When allied with one ULGD guild, you have an alliance with all of the guilds. Instead, if we chose our own alliances, we could -select- our own clans/guilds to ally with, in contrast to having a group that we are automatically allied with.' And thanks to Sir Rasconza for his summarization of that. :) * Porthos-DE hands Duchess Caithris a pair of bifocals. :) done! Lady Serena? I would at this time like to suggest that we vote upon waiting till further information is brought to light about this subject before voting upon it. * Caithris smashes the bifocals with her pitchfork and smiles pleasantly at Serena. * VoragDE ducks Done ** Thank you, Lady Serena. Your Grace Eldahir? Concerning NwN ,,, just as d2 it is a game that is slowly dieing ,,, neither nwn or d2 is the future of DE. so why form new alliance with resources which we wont have so much use for in the long run. But I think that which Porthos and Talyn has set in motion is a great initiative and I would like to wait and see those results. done. Thank you for having it all typed up. :) Your Majesty? Basically, I shall sum it up like this... I feel that this topic should be taken about the same way as games should be right now... and that is we need some time to gather the required information and to seek the apropriate leads. * Caithris nods. Personally, I don't think this topic should be voted on for at least another month. Because that is the time I believe that we need to gather the apropriate intellgence. *** Drax is now known as DraxKain -done- Here is the motion, then, if someone will second. Forgive me your Imperial Majesty but ist there much more to do for I fear I have pressing buisness elsewhere shortly here and would not wish to seem rude in leaving before ye are finished. I do not think so. I believe we have a two hour time limit anyway. Well, I had a few motions myself, but since my schedule has been all screwed up the last two days, I am not prepared for this meeting like I should be. In fact... We are planning to have another meeting next week at this time, correct? * Caithris shrugs, but isn't opposed to it. * yes? could we try varying the nights for meetings ... it is a bit hard to be here the same night more than a week at a time ... And I seem to be the only available member of mine duchey .... alright... ** If we had one a week from this Saturday, could you all make it? and please dont make it later in the evening...this swede will have problems attending then :( That would work for me Your Imperial Majesty I was thinking earlier, actually. Like in the afternoon. Likely impossible for me * Caithris thinks for a few moments, then nods. I hear Korran might be available next Wednesday great....because right now its 2:53 AM here. Wed would work for me as well i am off from work tomorrow but when i do have work it is really interfeering :) Wednesday of next week? That sound good? *Rises from her chair curtseying to all as she excuses herself* Aye tis good I will possibly be late or not in attendance next Wednesday. Forgive me but I must leave. Peave favor ye all Thank you for coming, Lady Serena. :) But I think I can swing it. alright then, I will schedule one for next Wednesday at the same time. Eldy, you're gonna have to take a nap during the day or something. * Geirr trips Serena on the way out the door. Shadocat, did you have anything more to add? I did not, your Imperial Majesty. * Raz glances at Geirr, slightly confused. crud...hmm well ill try... *falls flat on her face grrrrrr * Shadocat stands to help Serena up even if wont make it i have excellent representatives from my duchy. One more thing. Takes the Duke's helping hand as she glares at Geir and thanks Duke Shado with a warm smile I am somewhat disappointed with the lack of organization of these meetings. Now, I'm not blaming anyone for anything. I just believe that we should be using our time more efficiently than we have been. So what I am going to do, is start a thread regarding issues that need to be brought up. I'd like all of you to post anything that needs to be resolved in that thread. I don't mind if they're duplicated. Just put down anything and everything you feel needs to be solved. *looks around for the praetor....* *** SerenaReynard has left #de_hc * Caithris notes that His Eminence is at work, as per her statement at the beginning of the meeting. And once I get enough feedback, I will try to have an itenerary set up for the next meeting on what issues are most important that need to be solved. ((last meeting he was here right?)) * Caithris smirks and apologizes for once again failing after giving it her all, and wonders one more time why she even bothers. Also... I believe that the two weeks of transition period are up for the new Chancellor. So an Imperial Election is forthcoming. I will speak with my counterparts about this next time I see them, and we shall set up dates. * Eldahir thinks her grace Caithris does not need to pout like that , we all including Porthos appreciate your efforts...but...just maybe this isn't about you m'lady. ;) *** Signoff: Raz (Quit: Raz) Agreed. There is no need for such talk. I believe what I believe. You can either agree or disagree. I am also proposing something new, and I intend to follow through on it. His Majesty got upset with us not doing anything. If that's the case, then I'm going to do something. I don't care WHOSE prerogative it is, plain and simple. It's been decided that anyone can call a HC meeting, and I've done so in the past, several times. maybe a talk between u and the praetor would help...would be great if korran could set up the things and organize it....not neccesary for him to attend (even thought it would be nice ;) ) because he would laready have it all organized very well in before hand. What difference does it make that I did it again? I wanted to get some things out of the way, even if there were other things that needed to be handled as well. Done. This Council Meeting is over. If anyone has anything else to say, let us maintain order.
