There are three oaths that every druid must swear to upon his initiation. These oaths exist to limit the powers of the druid, and to teach humility and trust. They are embodiments of the ideals of the Order.
Since the Druids are essentially writers, general guidelines have been set in order to help bind their tales together more effectively into a cohesive whole.
The Destruction Rule
If a person, place or thing is destroyed in any of the tales, it must remain destroyed, or in the case of living things, dead, in order to preserve consistency. A writer may write about the item if it is before, or after the destruction, but cannot carry on a story as if it was still there. However, special permission to bring the subject back (be it animal, person, place, or thing) or use it in a story can be granted by the writer that originally had it destroyed.
The Profanity Rule
A few uses of profane or offensive material will be overlooked. The world we live in is not perfect and neither should we expect the world of Temmarendil to be. However, the use of profane or offensive material should have a specific purpose - such as war situations, or extreme emotional events. Gratuitous, or pointless usage of such material is not acceptable, however, and the member of the Druid Council will edit or remove it upon their discretion. As for writing about highly descriptive sexual activities - please refrain from including this in written work at all times.
The Relevance Rule
If you are writing stories related to Temmarendil, please refrain from adding any elements from outside of that time era/subject matter - such as other story genres (science fiction as an example), other game-worlds or campaign settings. Stories about Temmarendil should be about Temmarendil and its environment only. If stories violate this, they will not be considered as being official submissions for the Druidic Order's Library.
