Handling Out of Date Forums?
« on: Aug 24, 2009, 04:49 PM »

We agreed at our last meeting that the NWN, Guild Wars, WoW, Warcraft 3, etc boards need to go and be replaced by Diablo 3 and DDO...

How do we want to handle the old forums on the board? Delete them outright, archive them?

What say you?

Archive I'd say.  I wouldn't want to lose even gaming information.   Unless there's nothing pertinent, then I suppose it's just wasted space to keep it.  However, DII LOD I'd say keep because some still play that one.

My advice would be to go through them and see if there's anything worth saving and delete the rest.

*Bows*

I agree with Mysteek, this is something that should be archived, for it is not useless information, it is part of the Draconian Empire's history, this is what helped make us what we are.  But I would still archive all but Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, for there are still many that play that game, and with Diablo 3 coming out soon, by keeping Diablo 2, it would help to show our support for the Diablo games for any future (possible) members who look up Diablo gaming guild via Google.

Do you think a backup freak like me could advise anything but archiving those forums ?

I have all of my conversations on any IM from 2002 to this day. If you talked to me on May 23, 2003, I still have the log !

So yes, I would say, archive the forums.

Smiley Seems we have our answer.

If someone else doesn't beat me to it, I'll eventually get them moved/archived.
